You’re the one speaking.
Words slipping out
like change from a holey pocket.
You don’t know what you’re saying,
you don’t know what you’re wasting.
Wasting away in your own ignorance,
your own pity of the rest of us,
but you’re the one who’s drowning.
You say one thing, you say it twice,
but everything you believe in
goes against what you claim.
You say you believe in a God
so widely known
but you drown in the sea,
go with the flow
of socially acceptable
and politically correct.
You want to be different
but you want to fit in.
You want to hold to your beliefs,
but you condemn yourself.
You’re the one speaking,
but my heart is the one breaking.
You can’t see that you’re running blind.
You ignore the instructions
so plain and simple
and wonder why problems surface
why things don’t go your way.
You take part of the picture
and throw the rest away.
You take what you like, but
not what you need.
You can’t pick and choose,
but you can decide for yourself.
Give it all or not a bit.
He is either who He said He was,
or totally insane.
