Maybe metaphors are not my strong suit.
Like sobriety for Lindsay Lohan
or “just say no” for Charlie Sheen.
But we all have problems.
Just like math, but
we can’t have other people solve them
so we sit there staring at them
like watching water boil
like our blood in our veins
since we haven’t dealt with our problems–
watching a wick light explosives–
things begin to spark where they shouldn’t
explode into more problems until
we match a college algebra textbook.
Thankfully I’m just dealing with problem one A
on page three of lesson five, metaphors.
If this isn’t a clear enough image for you–
                     go look at children’s literature.
