I’m sure there was screaming,
That first Christmas night.
Maybe we’re dreaming,
And far off from right.
When we sing Silent Night,
Oh holiest night.
I’m sure there was crying,
Mixed in with delight.
It was more than just trying,
That first Christmas night…

Oh what silent night,
Could bring forth a Saviour,
Who came as a baby,
Like none else before?
What night so brilliant,
Could be done in silence?
To save a world so vile,
And unravel it’s defiance.
One pitiful night my Saviour came to be,
Lower than low because He loves me.
