Gasping for air.
Overwhelmed in this sea of resistance.
Each breathe breathed in,
Screaming for some sort of existence…
An existence beyond my own.

Now dry land.
Dying for a single drink to fill me.
Each tear barely slips,
Crying hard enough to create a sea…
Yet lacking the liquid.

Bitter sweet sorrow.
Relief from my pain.
When life is so empty,
What is there to gain…
There is nothing.

Empty sorrow,
Filling up my thoughts.
I listen as we all scream,
Watch as each soul rots…
There has to be a way out.

Just one sip,
From the cup passed before.
Just one account,
One body beat and sore…
Can rescue every other?

This thirst,
This dying thirst I contain.
Able to be eased,
By this living hope I must attain…
So easily?

To give up my life,
To be filled passed the brim.
To see with the Light,
From whence everything was dim…
To drink this cup passed before me.

  1. This is an absolutely stunning meditation. It took me a few lines to realize you were speaking of Jesus. Wonderful meditation.

  2. Jingle says:

    drink and get satisfied…

    lovely imagery.
    welcome back.
