Sitting so and waiting,
Waiting quietly intact.
Holding ‘self together,
Waiting just to act.
Upon the sudden burst,
Of enthusiastic cheer.
Christmas time is anticipated,
This time of year.

Cold smooth breezes,
Prickling at the skin.
Warm soft hoodies,
Keep the heat within.
The thought of snow,
Or at least of the fire.
Fill the smallest hearts,
Igniting our desire.

Walking down the street,
With lights all ’round to see.
Feelings trills of Christmas,
Whatever they may be.
Lights of colour,
Upon most every place.
Hearts that are glowing,
Now shown upon each face.
