She’s just a girl,
Afraid to speak about,
The things she thinks,
Afraid to scream and shout,
That she is so confused.
She isn’t sure where she stands,
No one knows she’s self abused.
Afraid to ask her,
Afraid they might be right,
Afraid she’ll start again,
Afraid she might…
Never open up.
They wouldn’t say a word,
About the scars she hides,
How she reacts to things,
Touching her sides.
Just a question could release her…
Let her see a new way.
Just a smile could ease her…
Bring her a better day.
But she’s forgotten,
Left alone.
Love Begotten,
But she tries on her own.
